I agree with Johnny Law there. Good point you brought up Fat Sam. It's always good to see success stories like Rico Noel out there. It's great to see his awful day in the NCAA tournament performance in 2008 didn't crush him for the rest of his career. He's a stud.

Stitch,
I always seem to pull for the underdogs. Upsets are one of the many things that make college baseball a great sport.

Sam,
Nice points about Rico. He put that weekend in Cary behind him. I don't think Coastal will be the underdog too often this year.

It's nice to see how Rico Noel has developed for Coastal Carolina. I saw him as a freshman 2B in 2008 commit 5 errors in the 2 game Super Regional against North Carolina. Not surprisingly, he became the object of derision from the UNC fans as the Tar Heels blew the Chanticleers out on their way to Omaha.

Noel played great defensively as an outfielder last year, hit over .300 and stole 48 bases and is really the catalyst for the potent CCU offense. The straw that stirs the drink, if you will.

Stitch,
Nail on the head with LeMoyne. Young teams come into their own in the second half of the season. They get dangerous when they return everyone the following year with a belief they can win.

As to your lumping SLU into the midwest, I'll forgive your CA geographically challenged self. Here in Chicago, we consider the south to be everything the other side of I-80. By the time we get to Champaign we expect to see Johnny Reb flying his flag in his front yard and drinking corn liquor with his bloodhound at his feet on the front porch. ;)
