A hateful, repugnant waste of eight minutes.
Did I tell you that this one comes with a full money-back guarantee? Hope you dig it.

THE TWITTER AND FACEBOOK THING.
I didn’t mention it in the baldcast here, but for those of you who haven’t yet, feel free to follow me on Twitter – just search for “Stitch_Head” and you’ll find me. Then, you can also friend the Stitch-Head Nation on Facebook – under the name of College Baseball Today.
Now, for those of you who have signed up for the Twitter updates already, I haven’t posted as often as I’ve wanted to because of a slight snafu with my account and the postings. Hopefully, it’ll be rectified here soon and I’ll do a little bit more with it. Feel free to sign up, I’ll give you a free shiny nickel if you do. Sorry, no money back guarantee on this one.

ME AND THE CAPTAIN OF THE PIRATES
One of the interviews I’m most looking forward to is the one I have scheduled with East Carolina head coach Billy Godwin, who will be meeting with me at the Easton home offices tomorrow morning. Can’t wait. Coach Godwin and his troops are going to take a walk-through of the Easton offices before their game with Cal State Northridge later on in the afternoon.
Got any questions you want me to ask him? Send ‘em to me. I really can’t wait to jaw with the Pirate maestro. He’s done a remarkable job of carrying on – and extending – the ECU tradition of winning that was started with the late Keith LeClair.

THE LITTLE RICHARD VERSION.
Here’s a performance from Little Richard doing “Long Tall Sally” without my talking on top of it. By the way, notice at about the 1:20 mark in the clip that Buddy Holly and the Comets are jammin’ along to the song. Top notch.

With that t-shirt it seems you ought to have Def Leppard as your background music.
My question I’d ask Coach Godwin, which I guess could be valid for Gary Gilmore of Coastal Carolina or any of the coaches from good teams outside of the “power” conferences:
If his team were to break through and make it to the CWS this year, what implications would that have on East Carolina’s program? While the expectations from an already rabid fan base would surely increase, would the national exposure broaden the Pirates’ appeal to more high school talent outside of the Carolinas?

I enjoyed your video round up/weekly preview as usual. Also, thanks for the love for the Sooners. I went to their game last night at Dallas Baptist and saw J.R. Robinson of the Sooners throw 7 & 1/3 innings of 4 hit ball. Now two of those hits did go yard but still it was a very good pitching performance. Also, I am going to mention that Dallas Baptist has a gem of a college campus…..it looked like it was plucked right out of Virigina and stuck in S.W. Dallas! I too am looking forward to the Whataburger Classic this weeked……should OU go 2-1, I will really start to feel good about this team actually doing something this year. Though I should already feel god since they are 12-1 with only four games being played in Norman and othey will then be on the road again this weekend. To me this was awesome scheduling that should get help the freshman & sophmores on this team mature as well as get them ready for the road in the Big 12.
Also Eric, thanks for the e-mail. I tried to respond but my e-mail came back. Regardless, I look forward to chatting with you this year!

Fat Sam, please excuse my barking, but…
The idea that Conference USA is not a “power” conference in baseball is ludicrous. They have had a team in the College World Series at least five years in a row. All three bids from last year made a Super Regional. They haven’t had less than 4 bids since at least 2003 (I got tired of looking it up by that point)– except for last year when C-USA SHOULD have had four bids and just about everybody knows it.
As for East Carolina’s recruiting, while admittedly heavy on Carolina talent (which there is a LOT of), they already have players from Mass, PA, VA, GA, NJ, NY, FL.
Anyways, pardon my defense of C-USA baseball, but, it’s an awesome conference and they play with the best.

The coach complaining about his ridiculously difficult schedule had to be Rich Hill from USD. I live in SD and have seen his team play Indiana, SDSU and Kentucky so far. Their highly touted pitching staff has been disappointing so far and their offense has been as bad as last year, but without the injury excuses). They just lost to Irvine and have Fresno St and Fullerton this weekend, Rice next weekend and then travel to Coastal Carolina for 3 games. Nasty.

Well the Sooners defeated Houston Baptist today 9-1 and this was their 8th win in a row and the second in a row over a baptist school. This also was their 6th win at home to go along with their 7 roads wins. Despite Oklahoma’s current record of 13-1, I really do not know what to think about the Sooners yet but I do expect to have a better feel after this weekend when they will play Miss. St. & UCLA.

I’m probably making much ado about nuthin’ but in the Little Richard video (nothing better than good sax) that’s Bill Haley with the spit curl in the middle of his forehead. I saw that movie as a kid and I can’t remember the name of it. All black band and an all white audience. Some things don’t change. Back to baseball.
