RSN says:
They must have left a certain 2B off their ballot cause how else can you explain how their 1st team 2B from last spring not being on any of the 3 teams??
Lonnie Kauppila says:
No Mark Appel from Stanford, get real, he’s better than all these pitchers especially after the first team roster. Get real!
RSN says:
Forgot to say who the 2B was. Ross Heffley from Western Carolina: .419-ave, 96-H, 18-2B, 2-3B, 11-HR, 65-RBI, 151-TB, .483-OB%, 30-BB, 22-K
Travis says:
What about Michael Wacha @ Texas A&M? I would have have thought First Team but to not even make the Third Team is just ridiculous. Wacha had 120Ks to 30BB, a 2.29 ERA and 9-4 record. Not to mention he had an outstanding freshman season followed-up with a dominating sophomore campaign. Plus he is 6′6″, with great stuff (he has more Ks than anybody on that list) and will likely be a first to second round pick.
KR123 says:
RSN – At least Louisville Slugger AA corrected this glaring omission – Heffley was first team there…thanks for repping the Catamounts……kind of odd, out of 10 position players on the first team, three were from the powerful SoCon, and only two from the apparently inferior SEC (2011 teams)
RSN says:
KR,
Yes it is rather odd seeing 30% of first team from the SOCON. Stat wise it is hard to argue against them being picked and most AA Teams are based on those with the exception of Baseball America’s teams. Ill bet Roache makes BA’s preseason team and maybe Heffley but not Aldrich.
But more shocking to me than the 3 from SOCON is no one from the ACC.
