Having been raised in Omaha and spending many summer nights scampering through Rosenblatt Stadium long before the ESPN cameras ever showed up . . .
Lots of great pitching performances dotted the national scorecard from today. There were also a modicum of upsets inside the top 30, including 13 ranked teams that went down for the count.
Some Thursday night musings while watching the Tennessee-Mississippi State game and listening to Kyle Peterson.
The Week 10 preview is here. To be honest, it’s a little short by my standards, but that’s how the Mother Ship wants it to be. Otherwise, you know me, it’d be a mile-long document. Anyway, here is where you can click on the link and check it out.
Back with more soon boys and girls.
G’day.
After a week where everybody lost, some even badly, I felt the great need to do one of those major shakeups to the Power Rankings. Didn’t feel compelled to keep teams that lost twice at the top, especially with FSU and UK getting bitch-slapped as bad as they did in big losses. But don’t worry Seminole and Wildcat fans, there’s plenty of time to make amends and get back up there. The ebb and flow of this season has been freakin’ crazy, so it’s one of those just-a-matter-of-time kind of things.
So if you wanna see how it all shook down, just

Question here: What do we do about Baylor now?
One thing we’ve discovered about the Bears is that they can win a game in any style or fashion necessary. Today, the Bears completed a pair of football scores over Kansas State that would make RG3 proud.
I’m sick of it. No doubt. So I’m sure you are too. See, I’ve spent the past three weekends in Austin, New York City/Connecticut and Florida. It’s time to quit being such an East coast homer. So I felt like it was time for some long-overdue West Coast Love. Finally.

In case you missed it on my Twitter page (What, you don't follow me on Twitter? Gah!), here's a shot of Andrew Thurman sitting by himself on the UCI bench in the midst of his no-hit attempt. And no, it may look like it but he's not really about to barf into that white bucket.
Because of the heavy dose of rain we got in the L.A. area today, this is about as close as I got to a college baseball game today…

On the Bucket List: One of these days I'll make it to Penn State's Medlar Park, as it sits behind the majestic Beaver Stadium on a sun-splashed afternoon in Happy Valley. Today, it was the only baseball I got to see because of the pissy weather around here.
Twelve things that have been going through my mind during this latest mid-week of college baseball action.

Louisville centerfielder Adam Engel made one of the best plays of the week with this home run rob of Kentucky in Tuesday's 12-0 blowout win in Lexington of the 2nd-ranked Bat Cats.

I was hoping to post the least-flattering picture of me as was possible. Mission accomplished. (Looks like I'm in the middle of singing Dean Martin's "That's Amore")
Okay Stitch-Heads. This week’s preview was intentionally a little bit lighter in volume. Mainly because of my travel back from Florida and the Frozen Four and because Walter Villa’s expose on the Miami Hurricanes was going to be front and center this week. But fear not, I still added my usual weekly “Baldcast” and also have a cool Q&A with UCF coach Terry Rooney. So be sure to click on this highlighted link and have a blast with it.
Back with more stuff in a little bit.
Interesting weekend made this week’s power rankings nearly impossible. Almost to the pain-in-the-ass point. But here is what we got for the rankings and the recap.
Check it out if you can. Argue about it endlessly if you want.
